Trail Tools
A quiet reference tool for the trail. It tells you what you need and then gets out of the way.
Trail Tools is an iPhone app for walking: the weather where you actually are, your route on the map, the list of what you packed, and small tools for the day. No account, no feed, nothing to scroll. What you put in stays on the phone.
What it does
The sky, where you are
Conditions and temperature from Apple Weather, with sunset, sunrise and how much daylight is left — the number that decides whether you go on or stop.
Your route, and staying on it
Import a GPX file from Files, AirDrop or any other app. Scrub the elevation profile to see what is still ahead. Follow-Me tells you once when you have left the line and once when you are back, and keeps working with the screen off and the phone in a pocket.
Maps that work without signal
Download the area before you go and the map is drawn from the phone. Your routes, your position and your packing list never needed a connection in the first place.
The packing list
Tick things off as you pack, and again as you use them — so next time you know what you carried for a week and never touched. Lists import and export as CSV.
Tools
Small single-purpose things for a day out, each with a panel on the home screen while it runs. The first is a hydration reminder, because on a hot ridge nobody remembers on their own.
Where to get it
Trail Tools is in development and not on the App Store yet. It is built for iPhone, and speaks English and German.
